Since January 2005, smoking has been banned in Italy in all enclosed public places such as offices, cafés, bars, and restaurants. People may still smoke in their homes and outdoors, but in places open to the public, smoking is allowed only in special smoking rooms, if these have been provided.


Questo è il nome con il quale gli scozzesi chiamano la vigilia di Capodanno. Per tradizione si festeggia l'arrivo del nuovo anno facendo visita ad amici e parenti dopo la mezzanotte. Quest'uso si chiama first-footing per i primi piedi che oltrepassano l'uscio di casa nell'anno nuovo.
