The German Tablett is misleading as it means tray rather than tablet. You would translate the phrase Sie servierte den Kaffee auf einem Tablett by She brought in the coffee on a tray.
The English word tablet in the sense of pill is translated by Tablette, but a tablet of soap would be ein Stück Seife.
Oktoberfest
The Oktoberfest has been held annually in Munich since 1811. It lasts for 16 days from mid-September and now attracts millions of visitors. It takes place in huge beer tents where people sing folk songs while Bavarian beer is served in one-litre glasses together with traditional local food.
