Sistema educativo
In Spain, children begin primary school at the age of 6 after attending kindergarten for the previous 3 years. Compulsory secondary education is known as educación secundaria obligatoria (ESO) and lasts from the age of 12 to 16, when students choose between a broad-based academically-oriented course (bachillerato) and a vocational course (formación profesional) both of which last two years. In order to get into university you have to pass the selectividad, a two-day diet of exams.
